WHY LEARN KUNG FU?

There are many reasons to learn Kung Fu, whether it is for self-defence, physical exercise, spiritual development or improving your health. Kung Fu can help improve all these areas and more.

There are many styles of Kung Fu, but contrary to what some might tell you there is no perfect style, merely variations on a similar theme developed by individuals based on their own interpretation of the styles they learnt. Therefore there are a multitude of Kung Fu schools each claiming they are the ‘perfect’ Kung Fu style.

But this also means that many of the traditional methods have been lost along the way and sent the way of folklore and mythology. Teachings such as Dim Mak (pressure points), (iron shirt), and Gen (one-inch force) are rarely taught as part of a complete system and by ordaned sifus (teachers), especially outside of China.

Chow Gar is among the very few traditional Kung Fu schools that teaches these lost arts, and more. It links directly with the famous Shaolin school, and has been granted permission by the Grand Master, Ip Chee Keung, to be taught here in the UK.
